Friday series talk - Alex Radu

‘There’s often talk in education these days about the need to future-proof young people, about preparing them for jobs that don’t yet exist and equipping them with the skills to be successful in a rapidly-changing world. This exciting challenge informs our core values as we nurture the next generation of courageous, compassionate and adaptable 21st-century women at Sherborne Girls, and the second of our Friday Series lectures was a golden opportunity for the pupils to gain an insight into how those values would serve them well in the field of digital technology, should they choose to pursue that career path. Delivered by software developer and designer Alex Radu of JP Morgan Chase, the girls were inspired by Alex’s passion for creative and technical writing, as well as by the many opportunities and roles which exist, and which they are well-placed to consider and explore - roles involving coding, data science, creative design and the ethics of AI.
