The Co-curricular programme at Sherborne Girls is a key part of the broad education that we offer in pursuit of our five key values.
It enables our pupils to develop existing and foster new talents in areas such as drama, music and sport, as well a variety of other creative and outdoor pursuits. It also provides many opportunities for them to explore a range of intellectual and cultural interests through numerous clubs and societies which complement and enrich the academic curriculum.
Pupils are very much encouraged to recognise and reflect upon how they can develop important, transferrable life skills, for example through the school’s Adventure and Leadership programme, which includes a number of volunteering and charitable outreach projects, or through completing Leiths Introductory Certificate in Food and Wine.

Our co-curricular programme 'Beyond the Classroom' is designed to help pupils make the most of their time at Sherborne Girls by grouping activities under the following seven pillars.
An excellent way to broaden the pupils’ horizons and prepare them for life beyond school, our Friday lecture series provides the pupils with a series of mini adventures, life lessons and inspirational stories. Topics are wide ranging and pupils are able to join the visiting speaker after their lecture for supper with the Headmistress to explore their specialist topic in more depth.
Sherborne Girls has well-established links with a number of schools around the world: St Mary’s Waverley, Johannesburg; Launceston Church Grammar School, Tasmania; St Peter’s, Adelaide; Branksome Hall, Toronto, and Sherborne Qatar. For each of these annual exchanges, pupils have the opportunity to apply for a place and an interview process takes place. Successful applicants will also host their exchange partners when they visit Sherborne Girls.
