Fourth Form (Years 7 & 8)

The first two years, Years 7 and 8, are known as Lower 4 and Upper 4 at Sherborne Girls.

In L4 and U4 (age 11+ and 12+) the curriculum deliberately remains broad. Our emphasis is on opportunities for creativity, exploration and investigation, the development of outdoor learning as well as inter-disciplinary learning combining themes in subjects such as history, geography, and religious studies.

Pupils follow a wide range of creative subjects in addition to their core programme, including:

• Art
• 3D Design
• Textiles Design
• Food and Nutrition
• Drama
• Music
• Entrepreneurship, Careers and PSHEE
• IT and Learning Skills
• Language acquisition is a priority and pupils can choose the languages that they study.

We were one of the first independent schools in the UK to create a junior 'Diploma' aimed at fostering a natural curiosity and a love of learning, aligned to our school values.
