Now that the construction phase on the main building is complete, work on the interior of our new Arts Centre is gathering pace and the project remains on track to open this summer.
With its recital hall, recording studio, practice rooms, plus gallery and social spaces, the £11m development at the heart of the school campus will deliver a huge boost to school facilities as well as provide a venue that local community groups can use.
Mrs Katherine Massey, Director of Development and Marketing at Sherborne Girls, said:
“We are now entering a truly exciting stage of the build when the interior fittings are being installed and equipment is starting to arrive. Plans are being finalised for a suite of celebratory events to mark the official opening in late June but we will actually start to use the facilities from Easter onwards.
“Having raised more than £2.3 million of our £2.5 million fundraising target, we continue to seek support and donations. There are a variety of ways people can help us to close the final fundraising gap from ‘taking a seat’ to naming rooms.”
